Tele2 has tested voice over LTE (VoLTE) in the live Swedish Tele2 LTE network. During the tests, Operator found much better voice experience in the IP based LTE network compared to 2G and 3G networks.
Tele2 has tested voice over LTE (VoLTE) in the live Swedish Tele2 LTE network. During the tests, Operator found much better voice experience in the IP based LTE network compared to 2G and 3G networks.
The tests have been conducted in a fully end-to-end standards compliant manner using technology from Mavenir Systems and Nokia Siemens Networks implemented in the live LTE network in Sweden.
Tele2 expects to be ready to launch VoLTE commercially within a year.
“We have consciously built in support for VoLTE in the 4G network, covering almost the entire population of Sweden. The tests we have conducted have shown tremendous results in a multi-vendor environment,” said Joachim Horn, CTIO Tele2.
