Deutsche Telekom has announced new option for its customers to surf the Internet with their smartphones at speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s. The LTE Speed option will be available for purchase from September 4 for EUR 9.95/month with all Complete Mobile rates. The data volume included in the selected rate also doubles.

Hong Kong’s operator CSL has launched commercial 1800MHz/2600MHz dual-band 4G LTE network for its premium brand 1O1O. Operator launched its 4G LTE mobile network in Hong Kong in November 2010 and already covers 90 per cent of the population.

Telekom Austria Selects Ericsson for Radio Network Upgrade and LTE
Telekom Austria Group has picked Ericsson for its multi-standard radio network upgarde and to supply LTE infrastructure. Ericsson will upgrade the 2G and 3G mobile networks and also provide the LTE technology for Telekom Austria Group’s subsidiaries A1 in Austria and Vipnet in Croatia. Rollout has already started.

Canada’s Rogers Communications has launched LTE networki in Moncton, New Brunswick. Rogers has invested $20M in its wireless network in New Brunswick over the past two years. Operator also has expanded its LTE network in Atlantic Canada, adding to cities including Halifax and St. John’s earlier.
