South Korea’s SK Telecom has crossed 5 million LTE subscriber mark in just one year since releasing its first LTE smartphone in September 2011. The company exceeded 5 million LTE subscribers in 46 days after breaking the 4 million mark in July 30, 2012.

C Spire Activates LTE Network In Mississippi
U.S. Carrier C Spire Wireless has launched mobile broadband services in four Mississippi markets this week with the activation of its 4G LTE network. McComb, Brookhaven, Meridian and Greenville are the first of 31 markets that are receiving C Spire’s LTE services between now and the end of October.

South Korea’s operator KT has announced that the number of subscribers to its LTE and high-speed Internet services surpassed the 2 million and 8 million marks respectively. KT launched its LTE service in January and crossed 1 million mark in five months.
Optus Launches LTE Network in Sydney, Perth and Newcastle
Australian operator Optus has introduced 4G LTE network in Sydney, Perth and Newcastle and plans to launch LTE services in Melbourne from 15th September, 2012. Optus has also began offering Samsung GALAXY S III 4G to its customers.
LG U+ Unveils Voice over LTE Services with Ericsson
South Korean operator LG U+ has introduced voice over LTE (VoLTE) services to its customers in partnership with Ericsson’s subsidiary LG-Ericsson. With commercial VoLTE (GSMA IR.92) services, the operator can also offer enhanced telecom grade services such as HD voice, video calling, chat and presence.
Yota Offers LTE Service in St Petersburg
Russian operator Scartel (Yota) has launched its LTE network in St Petersburg on 31 August. The launch was preceded by testing of LTE network earlier in the month of August that required service interruptions for existing WiMAX devices.
