Mobilkom demonstrates LTE in Austria

Mobilkom & Telekom Austria have conducted a live LTE demonstration on the A1 network.

Mobilkom & Telekom Austria have conducted a live LTE demonstration on the A1 network. According to press release, From a bus in the LTE supplied test site in Vienna Floridsdorf, a live connection to the TelePresence system of Telekom Austria was made.

“We expect that the growth curve will go up strongly. LTE is available in the districts of Vienna and Leopold Floridsdorf City and St. Pölten. Samsung LTE data stick was used for demonstration.

A1 had announced in May to have achieved data rates of 100 Mbit/s with LTE-end devices ready for mass production.

Radio equipments for the pilot project comes from the Chinese network equipment supplier Huawei. Starent / Cisco is supplier for the Evolved Packet Core and  Blueslice for the Home Subscriber Server.
