200 Commercial LTE Networks in 76 Countries

200 LTE networks have been commercially launched in 76 countries by 31 July 2013, confirms the Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA). 54 LTE networks of these have been launched in the first 7 months of 2013.

GSA further states that 106 LTE networks were commercially launched in the last 12 months, representing 112% annual growth. LTE service has been introduced to 12 new markets so far this year: Chile, Iceland, Iraq, Lebanon, Malaysia, New Zealand, Paraguay, Qatar, Spain, Thailand, US Virgin Islands, and Venezuela.

In terms of TDD, FDD deployments, 182 networks are deployed using the FDD mode while 9 networks are deployed in TDD mode. 9 networks are using both FDD and TDD modes.
