Nokia Networks and Qualcomm Demonstrate 300 Mbps LTE-Advanced with Three-band Carrier Aggregation

Nokia Networks and Qualcomm have completed interoperability testing of LTE-Advanced three-band Carrier Aggregation (3x CA) to achieve subscriber data rates of up to 300 Mbps in network environments.

Vodafone Starts LTE Advanced Roll-out in UK

Vodafone UK has began the roll-out of a LTE Advanced technology to boost existing 4G mobile service using Carrier Aggregation. Vodafone is rolling out the enhanced technology from this month in Birmingham, Manchester and London and to other UK cities during the rest of this year and 2015.

Ericsson Demonstrates Proof of Concept of NFV with NTT DOCOMO

Warid Telecom Selects Ericsson for LTE Deployment in Pakistan

Pakistan’s cellular service provider Warid Telecom announced Ericsson as its technology partner in the roll-out of 4G LTE in Pakistan during GITEX Technology Week 2014. Ericsson is Warid Telecom’s sole supplier of 4G LTE deployment in Pakistan.

ZTE Demonstrates 4G Rail Telecommunication Solutions at GITEX and Middle East Rail Technology Exhibition

Huawei Completes Handover Test between LTE TDD CA and LTE FDD CA

Huawei has announced completion of the bidirectional handover test between LTE FDD CA and LTE TDD CA, both with 40MHz bandwidth, utilizing a mobile device enabled by the Qualcomm Gobi 9×35 modem, working with Huawei’s One LTE network solution.

Swisscom Testing 450 Mbps LTE Speed, Expects Launch by 2015 End

After having introduced 4G/LTE at the end of 2012 and LTE advanced in mid-2014, Swisscom is now testing 4G/LTE bandwidths of up to 450 Mbps. Operator expects to launch higher speeds from the end of 2015. It will also be possible to make phone calls via 4G/LTE from summer next year, too.

Ericsson, Singtel and Qualcomm Demonstrate FDD/TDD Carrier Aggregation

Ericsson, SingTel and Qualcomm have successfully demonstrated FDD / TDD Carrier Aggregation using commercial track hardware and software. The demonstration achieved 260 Mbps downlink speeds.

Nokia Networks Implements VoLTE Solution in du’s Commercial Network

Nokia Networks has announced that company designed, tested and integrated VoLTE call in to du’s multi-vendor LTE network in 80 days.  The telecommunications service provider du successfully achieved Voice over LTE (VoLTE) functionality in its live network recently using Nokia’s VoLTE solution and Professional Services.
