Vodafone Spain has announced launch of commercial LTE services in 7 cities beginning tomorrow. The LTE network will be available in Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Seville and Valencia.
Vodafone Spain has announced launch of commercial LTE services in 7 cities beginning tomorrow. The LTE network will be available in Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Seville and Valencia.
Operator has deployed 4G network in frequencies of 1800 and 2600 MHz, while waiting for the release of the 800 MHz band. According to Vodafone, its 4G network will provide coverage to 55% of the population of the announced cities. In late summer the network deployment will be operational with 1000 base stations and the 7 initial cities will see improved outdoor coverage with up to 85% and 60% in within buildings.
The LTE service will be included at no additional cost to higher data tariff plans with 10GB monthly data. For other smartphone plans, the service price is additional 9 euros per month.
