MTN South Africa has announced the commercial roll out of 4G LTE network. Beginning 30th November 2012, operator has started offering LTE services to its customers with quicker broadband speeds.
MTN South Africa has announced the commercial roll out of 4G LTE network. Beginning 30th November 2012, operator has started offering LTE services to its customers with quicker broadband speeds.
MTN has upgraded over 1600 of base stations to prepare for the activation. MTN consumers can expect speeds of between 7 and 20 Mbps on average, depending on network conditions.
For the first rollout, MTN customers in the various areas of Pretoria (including Menlyn, Centurion, Pretoria East , Hatfield and Midrand), Johannesburg (Sandton, Rosebank, Fourways, Roodepoort, Fairlands, and O.R. Tambo International Airport) and Durban (Westville, Pinetown, Kloof, Hillcrest, Tongaat, Queensburgh, Amanzimtoti King Shaka International Airport & Umhlanga) will have access to LTE.
Along with LTE launch, operator has also started offering Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE on a MTN 2GB with contract for R799.00 per month, over 12 months.
