Greek mobile operatore COSMOTE is ready to launch a LTE pilot networks with speeds of 100 Mbps. The company has already submitted a request to provide consent for pilot testing by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Network.
COSMOTE intends to develop a pilot network of LTE in the areas of Maroussi and Halandri, which offers technical services company.
With LTE network speeds 100 Mbps for receiving data (downlink) and 45 Mbps for sending (uplink), COSMOTE says that it’s consumers can enjoy unimpeded access to services such as High Definition streaming and High Definition video-conferencing, high speed browsing and sending or receiving files, etc.
The company states that one of the biggest advantages of LTE networks is their ability to function in many bands, offering quality coverage with minimum cost and in remote areas of the country, contributing significantly to the development of broadband.
Earlier this year COSMOTE upgraded its 3G network by successfully implementing the Dual Carrier operation of HSPA+ technology , COSMOTE managed to reach downlink speeds up to 42.2 Mbps.
