Ericsson: LTE Subscriptions to Reach 85 percent in North America

4G/LTE subscriptions will reach 85 percent in North America and 30 percent in Europe in 2019, according to latest Ericsson Mobility Report. Globally, LTE subscriptions are predicted to reach 2.6 billion by 2019, representing around 30 percent of total mobile subscriptions.

GSA: 1,371 LTE User Devices Launched

GSA (Global mobile Suppliers Association) confirms that 132 manufacturers have announced 1,371 LTE-enabled user devices, including frequency and carrier variants. The number includes 705 new LTE user devices that were launched in the past year. During same period, the number of manufacturers increased by 52%.

915 Million LTE Subscribers Globally by the End of 2016

Analysts IDATE predicts more than 915 million LTE subscriptions worldwide by the end of 2016 and expects first billion to be exceeded during 2017. Asia-Pacific is expected to represent a sizeable 41.6% of the total, North America 21.6%, Africa/Middle East 7.5%, Eastern Europe 4.9% and Western Europe 15.8%. 

Ericsson: 4.5 Billion Smartphone Subscriptions by End of 2018

Mobile-data traffic will continue to grow significantly in the coming years. According to latest Ericsson Mobility Report, Video makes up the largest segment of data traffic in networks, and it is expected to grow around 60 percent annually up until the end of 2018.

474 New LTE Devices Launched in Past Year

GSA (Global mobile Suppliers Association) reports that 97 manufacturers have announced 821 LTE-enabled user devices, including frequency and carrier variants. Of these, 474 new LTE user devices were launched in the past year. 

LTE Subscribers to Exceed 100 Million Globally in 2013

LTE subscribers are projected to surpass the 100-million mark this year and will reach 198.1 million in 2013, up 115% from 92.3 million last year, according to an IHS iSuppli Wireless Communications Special Report.
