T-Mobile, Ericsson Make 5G Call on 600 MHz

U.S. carrier T-Mobile has made a successful 5G data call and video call on 600 MHz both on a live commercial network in partnership with Ericsson and Intel. T-Mobile also accomplished a tri-band 5G video call with three users on different spectrum bands – 600 MHz, 28 GHz and 39 GHz.

T-Mobile Launches Narrowband IoT Plans

T-Mobile USA has launched narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) plan for $6 per year. T-Mobile launched NB-IoT last October and plans to launch the technology nationwide by mid-year. T-Mobile also announced that the company has certified new NB-IoT modules from u-blox and Sierra Wireless for use on its network.

T-Mobile and Ericsson Demonstrate 1.1 Gbps Speeds Using 12-Layer LAA

T-Mobile and Ericsson have achieved speeds of 1.1 Gbps using 12-layer Licensed Assisted Access (LAA) technology, companies announced today. T-Mobile, Nokia, and Qualcomm Test 1.175 Gbps Speeds in Lab Trials

T-Mobile, Nokia, and Qualcomm, have exceeded gigabit speeds using evolved, commercially-available 4G LTE technology. In tests at T-Mobile’s lab last week, download speeds of 1.175 Gbps were achieved on T-Mobile’s LTE network utilizing Nokia’s AirScale Base Station together with the Snapdragon X20 LTE modem.
