SoftBank Mobile Selects Ericsson’s Voice over LTE Solution

Japan’s SoftBank Mobile has selected Ericsson to provide and integrate its end-to-end network solution for voice over LTE (VoLTE). With VoLTE as a basis, consumers will get HD voice and video calling alongside other telephony services, while using simultaneous LTE data services on LTE smartphones.

SoftBank to Buy 70% Stake in Sprint

SoftBank  and Sprint Nextel have entered into an agreement under which SoftBank will invest $20.1 billion to acquire 70% Stake in Sprint. Sprint equity holders will own approximately 30% of the shares of New Sprint.

Softbank to Acquire eAccess in Share Exchange Deal

Japan’s mobile service providers,  SOFTBANK and eAccess have entered into an agreement whereby SOFTBANK will become the sole parent company of eAccess and eAccess will become its wholly-owned subsidiary of SOFTBANK.

SOFTBANK MOBILE Picks NSN to Offer LTE in Japan

Japan’s SOFTBANK MOBILE has selected Nokia Siemens Networks to supply, deploy and integrate its 4G, FDD LTE network. SOFTBANK MOBILE expects to offer LTE services in autumn 2012. Nokia Siemens Networks will also expand SOFTBANK MOBILE’s HSPA+ network to enable new services using the recently allocated 900 MHz frequency band.
