South Korea’s SK Telecom and Japan’s Softbank have launched LTE roaming service in Japan and South Korea. LTE subscribers of SK Telecom and Softbank will be able to roam in Japan and Korea on the operators’ LTE networks.

LTE-A 3.5GHz Trial Network in Japan Achieves 770 Mbps Max Download Speed
Huawei has announced that it had helped build a 3.5GHz LTE-A trial network in Japan. A recent demonstration of the network showed it could support a max 770 Mb/s download speed by making use of LTE-A technologies like Carrier Aggregation (CA), Coordinated Multi-Point (CoMP) and Cloud BB (Baseband).
SOFTBANK Makes Commercial CSFB Voice Call with Huawei LTE TDD Smartphone
Huawei has announced that it enabled circuit switch fall back (CSFB) voice call between a LTE TDD compatible network and a UMTS network. This CSFB voice call was made through Huawei’s STREAM 201HW smartphone, now available through SOFTBANK MOBILE Corp in Japan.
SoftBank to Buy 70% Stake in Sprint
SoftBank and Sprint Nextel have entered into an agreement under which SoftBank will invest $20.1 billion to acquire 70% Stake in Sprint. Sprint equity holders will own approximately 30% of the shares of New Sprint.
