MTS, Nokia Siemens Networks Launch TD-LTE Network

Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) has launched LTE services in most of Moscow and 40 population centers in Moscow regions. Nokia Siemens Networks announced that it is the sole vendor for the TD-LTE network launch and a range of comprehensive services.

Nokia Siemens Networks Demos 1.6Gbps TD-LTE Speed

Nokia Siemens Networks has announced that it achieved a record TD-LTE throughput speeds of 1.6 Gigabits per second (Gbps). In the demonstration, the company used its commercial Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station to receive and send data in simultaneous downlink and uplink connections, reaching an overall speed of 1.6 Gbps.

Nokia Siemens Networks to Implement Optus’ EPC and Rollout LTE 1800MHz RAN

Optus has selected Nokia Siemens Networks to modernize its mobile network, refarme the 900 MHz GSM frequency band, and provide infrastructure and services for LTE rollout in Sydney and Perth. In addition, Nokia Siemens Networks is supplying LTE core to Optus.

Zain KSA Picks Nokia Siemens Networks for LTE Network in Jeddah

The Saudi Arabian operator Zain KSA has selected Nokia Siemens Networks as its LTE network supplier and services vendor for Jeddah. The operator aims to address the growing demand for mobile broadband and smartphone data services by refarming its 1800 MHz GSM frequency band to offer 4G services.

Nokia Siemens Networks To Supply Tele2 LTE Networks In Baltics Countries

Tele2 has selected Nokia Siemens Networks as the supplier of the operator’s 4G, LTE radio and core network in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to provide superior mobile broadband with faster data speeds and improved coverage. In addition, the company will modernize and expand Tele2’s GSM and 3G networks.

SOFTBANK MOBILE Picks NSN to Offer LTE in Japan

Japan’s SOFTBANK MOBILE has selected Nokia Siemens Networks to supply, deploy and integrate its 4G, FDD LTE network. SOFTBANK MOBILE expects to offer LTE services in autumn 2012. Nokia Siemens Networks will also expand SOFTBANK MOBILE’s HSPA+ network to enable new services using the recently allocated 900 MHz frequency band.

Nokia Siemens Networks wins StarHub Contract

Singapore’s mobile operator StarHub has selected Nokia Siemens Networks as its LTE mobile broadband infrastructure and services vendor. StarHub plans to re-use 1800MHz GSM spectrum to offer nationwide LTE service.
