Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM) has announced that its LTE services are now available in Cortina d’Ampezzo (Belluno) and Courmayeur (Aosta). TIM Launched commercial LTE services last year in November.

KPN to Roll out LTE in February 2013
Dutch mobile service provider KPN is testing LTE network with newly acquired spectrum and plans a large scale launch of LTE services as soon as February 2013. Operator expects to have covered approximately 50% of the Dutch population by mid-2013 and nationwide coverage in the second half of 2014.
Maxis Launches 4G LTE Services in Malaysia
Malaysia’s integrated communications service provider Maxis has launched 4G LTE services on first day of year. Maxis LTE Network is now available in selected parts of the Klang Valley including Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Damansara Utama, Desa Sri Hartamas, Bandar Puchong Jaya, Bandar Sunway and Cyberjaya following its midnight launch on 1 January 2013.
Dialog Launches Commercial LTE Service in Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka’s telecom service provider, Dialog Broadband Networks (DBN) has launched Commercial 4G Services with TD-LTE technology in the city of Colombo. DBN is the fixed telecommunication Services arm of the Dialog Axiata Group.
Omantel Starts Second Phase of LTE Network Roll Out
Telecom services provider Omantel has announced the launch of the second phase of its 4G LTE network in Oman. Operator has extended coverage to new areas in different parts of the Oman. The build-out of these new sites followed immediately the TRA approval to allocate the 1.8 GHz spectrum for 4G LTE use.
MTS Builds 2000 LTE Base Stations in 2012
Russian mobile operator Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) announced that it has built more than 2,000 LTE base stations in 2012. Operator’s 4G LTE network now covers about 90% of the capital and more than fifty settlements near Moscow.
Kazakhtelecom Launches Commercial LTE Services
KazakhTelecom has launched LTE network in Astana and Almaty in Kazakhstan. 4G LTE services are being offered by ALTEL, KazakhTelecom JSC affiliated company and national operator.
Menatelecom, Huawei Sign MOU for LTE Network Roll Out
Internet service provider Menatelecom has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Huawei to deploy its LTE network in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Earlier this month company has approved the investment into the LTE wireless network to be deployed in the country.
Dutch Multiband Frequency Auction Completed
Dutch Radiocommunications Agency has awarded mobile spectrum rights to four operators in the Dutch auction which completed on December 14, 2012. They are Vodafone, KPN, T-Mobile and Tele2. The total revenue generated by the auction is € 3.804 billion.
Zain, Huawei Build Nationwide Commercial LTE 1800MHz Network in Kuwait
Mobile service provider Zain has launched nationwide commercial LTE 1800 MHz network in Kuwait in partnership with Huawei. On November 21, Zain launched LTE services under the banner of “Wiyana Connect LTE”, a newly-built LTE network that realizes Circuit Switched Fallback (CSFB) as a LTE voice solution.
