U.S. Cellular will be adding more than 600 4G LTE cell sites in 2015 and expanding existing 4G LTE service in 10 states. By the end of 2015, 98 percent of U.S. Cellular customers will have access to 4G LTE speeds.

Huawei Announces 3.5GHz TDD LTE-Advanced Device
Huawei released a 3.5GHz CAT6 LTE-A device at the 3.5GHz LTE TDD Roundtable at MWC 2015. The device, supporting 2 carrier aggregation with total downlink speed of over 220Mbps, represents the end-to-end commercialization of LTE-A at the 3.5GHz band, according to Huawei.
DNA Testing LTE-Advanced with Omnitele
Finland’s mobile service provider DNA is testing LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) technology with Omnitele in a small cluster of DNA’s commercial 4G LTE network. The average bitrate over a short drive test run was 207 Mbps. The highest measured value peaked to 270 Mbps. Tests were conducted in a practical live network.
SWAN Launches LTE Service in Slovakia
Slovakia’s telecommunications provider SWAN has launched LTE service in 50 towns across Slovakia. For now the service is available for more than 30 percent of the population, while the coverage should increase along with gradual expansion of Swan’s network.

NTT DOCOMO, Nokia Networks Demonstrate High-speed Data Transmission in 5G
NTT DOCOMO has partnered with Nokia Networks to explore the potential of Nokia Networks mmWave technology in the 70 GHz spectrum band. In a joint indoor 5G trial, the two companies achieved downlink speeds of more than 2 Gbps using higher frequencies in the 70 GHz band.
