Unitel and Ericsson Demonstrate 450 Mbps Downlink Speed in Commercial LTE Network

Bouygues Demonstrates Tri-Band LTE-Advanced with Carrier Aggregation

French operator Bouygues Telecom, Qualcomm, and Ericsson have conducted  LTE-Advanced test with the aggregation of three carriers in January. Operator used three frequency bands 800MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz for the demonstration.

Qualcomm: 60+ Mobile Devices Based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Processor

Qualcomm today announced that it has a growing customer design pipeline in excess of 60 mobile devices based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. New devices based on Snapdragon 810 include the LG G Flex2 and the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, with many more expected in the coming weeks and months.

SK Telecom and Nokia Networks Commercialize eICIC

SK Telecom, Nokia Networks have commercialized a core LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) technology called ‘Enhanced Inter-Cell Interference Coordination (eICIC)’. eICIC is a technology that controls signal interference between macro and micro base stations to enhance the quality of the LTE-A network.

Bharti Airtel, Nokia Networks to Launch FDD-LTE Services in India on 1800 MHz

Indian telecom operator Bharti Airtel has commissioned Nokia Networks to expand its 4G presence to six new circles using Nokia Networks’ radio network. Operator will deploy FDD-LTE network on 1800 MHz to provide 4G services in 6 circles.

SK Telecom Sign MOU with Nokia for Development of 5G Technologies

Ericsson to Handle TeliaSonera Field Operation Services in Parts of Sweden

TeliaSonera has renewed and expanded its contract with Ericsson, that was initially signed back in 2010. Ericsson will now perform field operation services for the operator’s fixed and mobile networks.

Nokia Networks, Safaricom Launch LTE-A Network in Kenya

Kenya’s operator Safaricom has selected Nokia Networks as one of its partners to modernize and expand its 2G and 3G network infrastructure and to help launch the LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) network in Kenya. The network launched in December 2014 will offer peak speeds of up to 100 Mbps.
