AT&T Adds More cities to 5G Rollout Plan in 2018

AT&T plans to offer 5G services to customers in a dozen cities this year and is adding Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C. and Oklahoma City as the next three identified cities for its 5G plan. These cities join previously announced cities of Dallas, Atlanta, and Waco. 

Singtel, Ericsson Test Gigabit speeds with LAA

Singtel and Ericsson have achieved a peak speed of 1.1 Gbps in a joint trial of a new configuration of Licensed Assisted Access (LAA) technology. Conducted in a Singtel laboratory, the trial delivered speeds that breached the 1 Gbps barrier by combining several key LTE technologies including 256 QAM, 4×4 MIMO

T-Mobile and Ericsson Demonstrate 1.1 Gbps Speeds Using 12-Layer LAA

T-Mobile and Ericsson have achieved speeds of 1.1 Gbps using 12-layer Licensed Assisted Access (LAA) technology, companies announced today. This LAA technology builds upon operator’s deployments of 4×4 MIMO and 256 QAM and will give its customers even greater access to near gigabit speeds in 2018, said Neville Ray, Chief Technology Officer for T-Mobile.

Ericsson, MTS trials live Licensed Assisted Access

Ericsson, Qualcomm and Russian mobile network operator MTS have conducted a successful live trial with a commercial small cell product of Rel-13 Licensed Assisted Access (LAA) technology in Russia. LAA leverages the 5GHz unlicensed spectrum band together with licensed spectrum to deliver enhanced performance for mobile device users

T-Mobile USA, Nokia Networks Plan to Accelerate Licensed Assisted Access Deployment

T-Mobile and Nokia Networks are developing a pre-standards LAA (also referred to as LTE-U) solution for more LTE capacity and increased network performance. At Mobile World Congress, Nokia Networks will demonstrate the capabilities of LAA, using its Nokia Flexi Zone small cells technology, currently deployed by T-Mobile.
