Huawei Completes LTE to GSM ANR Interoperability Test

Huawei has announced the completion of a multi-mode, LTE to GSM ANR (Automatic Neighbor Relations) IOT (Interoperability Test). Based on 3GPP R9 standards, Huawei’s completed LTE-to-GSM ANR IOT: reduces manual configuration for neighbor relations by 90%, improve handover success rate, and reduces network management and optimization costs for operators.

Omantel Launches Commercial LTE Network

Integrated telecom services provider, Omantel has announced the commercial launch of its 4G LTE network in the Sultanate of Oman. The LTE network launch comes after a series of trials which successfully delivered speeds of up to 100 Mbps. Company has awarded its LTE network contracts to Huawei and Ericsson end of last May.

Portugal Telecom Selects Huawei for LTE Network

Portugal Telecom has selected Huawei to launch commercial LTE services in Portugal using tit’s SingleRAN LTE solution. According to Huawei, with it’s SingleRAN LTE solution, operator will integrate existing GSM networks and new LTE networks on a single platform to provide end users with seamless mobile services. 

Yota Switches on LTE Network in Moscow, Sochi

Russian operator Yota (Scartel) has switched on commercial LTE network in Moscow last week. At the same time operator switched off WiMax network in capital, reports RIA Novosti. Operator also launched its LTE network in Sochi in same week. Yota now plans to activate LTE network in Samara on May 23.

Movicel Deploys Commercial LTE 1.8GHz Network in Angola

African operator Movicel has launched of commercial 1.8GHz FDD LTE network in the Cabinda province of Angola. Earlier during MWC 2012 in Barcelona, Movicel announced it would deploy the first commercial LTE network in Angola by the end of May 2012, however operator has rolled out network 45 days ahead of the original plan.

Huawei Conducts 4×4 MIMO Trial on Commercial LTE Network

Huawei has successfully executed LTE 4×4 MIMO field trial in the network of Deutsche Telekom. According to Huawei, this field trial showed download data rates of up to 250Mbps. MIMO offers improved network performance in terms of coverage, spectral efficiency and throughput. The LTE 4×4 MIMO field trial utilized Huawei’s SingleRAN LTE solution.
