EE Brings LTE Network to 200th Town in UK

UK’s EE has added the seaside town of Rhyl in North Wales as the 200th town to its LTE coverage area. Operator switched on LTE network in 13 towns across the UK this week, bringing the total to 200 places and 72% of the UK population.

EE Announces Cheaper LTE Plan, Own-Brand Handset

UK’s operator EE has launched a range of new entry-level 4G pay monthly plans as well as the a low price 4G smartphone. From today, EE customers can choose from a range of 24 month entry-level 4G handset plans which includes the option of a free 4G handset

EE Announces LTE Roaming in France and Spain

UK’s EE plans to offer customers access to 4G LTE in France and Spain. The deals are the first of a series of outbound roaming agreements that will allow EE customers to get 4G speeds outside of UK. EE’s 4G coverage currently reaches over 70% of the UK population.

EE And Three to Invest £1bn in 4G Network Partnership

UK carriers EE and Three have agreed to build the next stage of their basic 4G networks together, including sharing mast infrastructure and transmission costs, according to the Financial Times. Both operators plan to invest a combined £1bn to complete their telecoms infrastructure. 

EE Switches on LTE-Advanced Network in UK

UK operator EE has switched on LTE-Advanced network today. It will initially cover London’s Tech City, with companies in the area being selected to access it first. EE has selected Huawei as its technology partner for this network. The LTE-Advanced be rolled out across London throughout 2014
