Ericsson: LTE Subscriptions to Reach 85 percent in North America

4G/LTE subscriptions will reach 85 percent in North America and 30 percent in Europe in 2019, according to latest Ericsson Mobility Report. Globally, LTE subscriptions are predicted to reach 2.6 billion by 2019, representing around 30 percent of total mobile subscriptions.

GSA: 1800 MHz Prime Band for LTE Deployments Worldwide

There are 120 commercially launched LTE1800 networks in 63 countries, according to a recent GSA (the Global mobile Suppliers Association) report. So far 279 LTE networks have been commercially launched in 101 countries.

NSN: 87% Jump in Indian Mobile Data Traffic in 2013

A recent report from Nokia Solutions and Networks, on mobile broadband performance in India, reveals a 87% rise in data traffic generated by 2G and 3G services during 2013. According to the NSN’s MBit Index, 3G data traffic increased by 146% where as 2G data traffic grew by 59% over the same period.

Number of LTE User Devices Grew 90% Annually, GSA Reports

According to recent GSA report 154 manufacturers have announced 1,563 LTE-enabled user devices globally. 742 new LTE user devices were launched in the past year, representing 90% annual growth. During same period, number of manufacturers increased by 58% to 154 companies.

How Operators Can Compensate For Falling Roaming Rates

Competition is fierce as operators look to sign up consumers to their new superfast 4G networks and make a return on their spectrum auction investment. A reason for this is that operators aren’t offering consumers anything beyond commodity services, such as 4G roaming bundles.
