LG Uplus and Huawei Establish a Center for LTE-A and 5G Research in Seoul
Huawei and the mobile operator LG Uplus have established a Mobile Innovation Center (MIC) in Seoul. On July 30, 2014, LG Uplus and Huawei signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to mark the announcement at the LG Uplus head office in Seoul.
SK Telecom and Ericsson Demonstrate Elastic Cell Technology
SK Telecom and Ericsson have successfully demonstrated the Elastic Cell technology on July 21. According to SK Telecom, Elastic Cell is expected to become a key technology for 5G. Demonstrating data transfer rate improved by up to 50 percent at the cell-edge, SK Telecom aims to commercially launch the technology by 2016.
