Singapore Has Top 4G LTE Speed Among 77 Nations
Singapore has best 4G LTE experience with a 46.64Mbps average download speed among 77 nations according to a recent OpenSignal report. South Korea is not far behind with an average of 45.85Mbps speed. European countries Norway & Hungary too have LTE average speed greater than 40Mbps. By contrast, the US has very low average 13.98Mbps.

SmartSky Starts Deploying 4G LTE Air-to-Ground Network
Aviation communications provider SmartSky Networks has started deployment of the airborne 4G LTE-based air-to-ground (ATG) network. Using 60 MHz of spectrum and beamforming technology, SmartSky’s network plans to provide more than 10 times the typical speed and capacity of the current industry standard ATG network, and at a lower cost per bit.
T-Mobile Launches LTE-U, Completes Test of License Assisted Access (LAA)
USA carrier T-Mobile has completed live field testing of mobile broadband data session using License Assisted Access (LAA) on its commercial network. The field testing, which began in Los Angeles yesterday, showed 741 Mbps download speeds using 80 MHz of aggregated spectrum, according to the operator.
