Bidding in UK LTE Spectrum Auction Begins Today

UK’s 4G spectrum auction is now under way with seven bidders who are competing to acquire new LTE frequencies. The bidders are Everything Everywhere,  HKT (UK) Company, Hutchison 3G UK, MLL Telecom, Niche Spectrum Ventures (a subsidiary of BT Group plc), Telefónica UK, and Vodafone.

Nokia Siemens Networks Provides LTE Network for U.S. Cellular in 11 Markets

Nokia Siemens Networks has announced that company launched a LTE network for U.S. Cellular and its partner, King Street Wireless, in 11 markets covering select cities in Illinois, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington and West Virginia. GSA: 145 LTE Networks in Commercial Service

GSA has confirmed that 145 operators have launched commercial services in 66 countries so far. GSA further reports that 104 new operators have committed to invest in LTE network deployments in 2012, raising the total number of committed operators to 330 in 104 countries.
