Deutsche Telekom’s first LTE base station operational

Deutsche Telekom’s first LTE base station is fully operational in Kyritz/Brandenburg, Germany. In Kyritz, 800 MHz spectrum is used to provide efficient broadband coverage of rural areas.

Telefonica O2 tests LTE in Slovakia

Telefonica O2 is testing LTE in the region of Banska Bystrica, Slovakia. The exercise will run until 31 August 2010. O2 is using 2.66 GHz frequency spectrum for tests.

MetroPCS To Launch LTE Service in September

MetroPCS will become the first U.S. operator to offer LTE service when it launches 4G  network next month, a Samsung executive said, reports Dow Jones.
