Lexington, Massachusetts, June 21, 2011: Polaris Networks, a leader in software test solutions for Communications and Wireless Networking technologies, today announced that BreakingPoint Systems has used Polaris’ LTE Emulators to validate its LTE simulation solutions. BreakingPoint, the standard in IT resiliency, has used Polaris’s LTE emulators to ensure the realism of its LTE traffic simulation. BreakingPoint is the only product capable of generating millions of simultaneous mobile application and attack traffic streams over LTE infrastructures from a single blade.

Global service providers are beginning to roll out LTE networks, and users are now expecting a higher performing and more secure mobile network experience. To ensure the resiliency of LTE devices and networks it has become imperative to simulate real-world application traffic over LTE protocols. Polaris’ LTE Emulators provide an end-to-end simulation of an LTE network, including the UE, eNodeB as well as the complete EPC (MME, HSS, SGW and PDN-GW). Polaris’ emulators provide great configurability and control, enabling BreakingPoint users to emulate different combinations of eNodeBs and the complete EPC, while taking advantage of BreakingPoint’s patented network processor technology to simulate millions of concurrent mobile users.

“Our partnership with BreakingPoint Systems shows the versatility of the use of LTE test tools from Polaris Networks. Most of our customer wins have been from NEMs, across the world, but this association with BreakingPoint reiterates the applicability of Polaris LTE test tools from testing development to deployment of LTE equipment and networks.” said Aditya Saraf , VP, Sales and Marketing, Polaris Networks. “It is a momentous opportunity for Polaris Networks to work with BreakingPoint Systems in their effort of helping network operators build reliable and resilient LTE networks capable of withstanding massive user load, application traffic, and attack.”

“BreakingPoint users can cost-effectively and accurately harden the resiliency of LTE/4G network infrastructures as million of concurrent users download rich media context, Skype® with friends, purchase music, post photos on Facebook®, or unknowingly share the latest malware,” said Scott Register, BreakingPoint Director of Product Management. “Using Polaris Networks’ LTE emulators our customers know that we provide the most realistic LTE simulation. BreakingPoint combined this LTE simulation with our intuitive single-screen configuration, patented ability to generate load from millions of users, hundreds of real-world applications, and thousands of live security attacks to allow organizations to rapidly validate the resiliency of any large-scale LTE infrastructure.”
