Verizon Wireless is expected to officially announce on Tuesday that it will start to sell the popular iPhone. It has long been rumored that iPhone is under works for Verizon but it appears to become reality soon.
Verizon last week announced nearly a dozen LTE smartphones and tablets. 4G LTE devices – including smartphones from HTC, LG, Motorola and Samsung. However it is not yet confirmed if iPhone would support LTE as well along with LTE.
According to WSJ, the phone will make its way to Verizon Wireless stores around the end of January. The Verizon phone will be similar to the iPhone 4 but run on the carrier’s CDMA technology.
AT&T has been the iPhone’s exclusive U.S. carrier since the iPhone’s 2007 launch. With it now Verizon is set to gain and expect add as many as 13 million iPhone customers in 2011 according to Analysts forecast.
