LTE iPhone is rumored to be launched on Verizon LTE/CDMA networks right after Christmas. According to MacDailyNews Verizon held a management training for iPhone sales last week and formal announcement of the iPhones Verizon debut is expected after Christmas.
As LTE rollout is limited to 38 markets currently, Verizon iPhone will have multi-band chip backward compatibility with regular CDMA allowing users to fallback to it’s 3G network in non LTE coverage areas.
The report claims that Verizon agreed to take 100% responsibility for security and is waiting for the AT&T exclusivity to end, after which it will market the phone as the only LTE-capable iPhone.
