Canadian telecom operators, Videotron and Rogers have announced to build out and operate a shared LTE wireless network in the province of Québec and the Ottawa region. Rogers already have LTE footprint across Canada, including Montreal, Ottawa and Québec City.

TeliaSonera Wins 800 MHz Spectrum in Estonia
TeliaSonera has secured frequencies in the 800 MHz band in Estonia in a contest arranged by the Estonian Technical Surveillance Authority. Operator won 2 x 10 MHz frequencies in the 800 MHz band. According to operator, the 800 MHz frequencies will enable a faster roll-out of 4G services in Estonian rural areas.
C Spire Wireless to Expand LTE Coverage in New Markets

Tekelec has been selected by Telefónica UK to provide the Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) in the 3G and LTE core networks. The Policy Server will combine with Tekelec’s Subscriber Profile Repository to enable Telefónica UK to offer advanced services for smartphones, tablets and other mobile data devices.

Huawei and China Mobile (CMCC) recently successfully completed Flash CSFB to GSM field test on a live LTE TDD network. According to Huawei, its Flash CSFB solution requires less time to complete end-to-end call setups compared with traditional CSFB and is capable of handovers to GSM and UMTS.
