Ericsson, Qualcomm Demonstrate 63 Mbps Downlink with 3G HSDPA

Turkcell, Ericsson and Qualcomm have successfully demoed the live 3-Carrier High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (3C-HSDPA) on a commercial network. The test utilized a feature that will be included in Ericsson’s software release 15A and was conducted on a smartphone powered by a Qualcomm processor with its integrated Qualcommmodem.

Orange Launches LTE Service in Slovakia

Orange Slovakia has launched LTE network in country. Operator’s LTE service is currently available in Bratislava, Kosice and Banska Bystrica.  Orange plans to cover 30 percent of the Slovak population with LTE by the end of year. 

ZTE Proposes Pre-5G Concept for 4G Terminals

ZTE has introduced its first pre-5G concept. At the LTE World Summit 2014 in Nice, France, ZTE announced that under certain conditions some 5G technologies can provide a 5G-like user experience on 4G terminals without changing the air interface standards. 

Zain KSA to Invest $1.2 Billion in Network Infrastructure

Zain Saudi Arabia (Zain KSA) has signed network expansion and upgrade agreements worth US $1.2 billion with five technology companies: Huawei, Nokia, NEC, Cisco, and Alcatel Lucent. The agreements aim to enhance Zain KSA’s customer experience and to improve and expand Zain’s network capacity, coverage and speed.
