Vodafone Spain has announced the availability of its 4G service in all provincial capitals and in the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla, from April 1. 4G services will be available in more than 220 municipalities, among which are the 80 Spanish cities with over 70,000 inhabitants.

According to the operator, outdoor coverage exceeds 90% of the population in 8 largest cities in Spain and 80% in 32 major cities. The operator has also strengthened 4G coverage in areas with high traffic such as airports, train stations, stadiums and spaces for large events.
Operator has deployed LTE network using 1800 and 2600 Mhz frequencies and waiting for the release of the 800 MHz band to accelerate the deployment of 4G and improved coverage inside buildings.
Vodafone is also trialing LTE-Advanced in Madrid and plans to make it available in the cities of Madrid and Barcelona in coming quarters.
