A1 Telekom Austria has announced that its LTE network now covers more than 80% of the population in urban areas where as network coverage is currently around 30% in all of Austria.

A1 currently offers five LTE capable smartphones, a data stick and a Wi-Fi hotspot and plans to add more soon. A1 is also offering an option to its customers to test LTE 1 month free then continue to 9.90 euros per month.
Company also stated that data roaming abroad is currently still covered over 2G and 3G networks. A1 is already working on the preparation of agreements on LTE data roaming with other network operators.
Operator initially launched LTE in October 2010 in Vienna and started with the construction of its network. In 2012, A1 launched its first LTE smartphone in Austria, the HTC Velocity 4G.
