AT&T has launched its 4G LTE service in Auburn-Opelika, Ala.; Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; Grand Rapids, Mich. and Nashua, NH. With this expansion, AT&T LTE network is now live in 113 markets.
AT&T has launched its 4G LTE service in Auburn-Opelika, Ala.; Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; Grand Rapids, Mich. and Nashua, NH. With this expansion, AT&T LTE network is now live in 113 markets.
AT&T 4G LTE is expected to cover 300 million people by year-end 2014. According to the operator, almost 90 percent of it’s mobile data traffic now runs over enhanced backhaul that supports both HSPA+ and 4G LTE data traffic. AT&T’s HSPA+ & LTE network now covers more than 285 million people.
Operator continues to expand its 4G LTE coverage and has aggressive plans to roll out LTE next year as well. Last week, FierceWireless had reported that AT&T is planning to launch LTE Advanced in second half of 2013.
