South Korea’s operator KT has announced that the number of subscribers to its LTE and high-speed Internet services surpassed the 2 million and 8 million marks respectively. KT launched its LTE service in January and crossed 1 million mark in five months.

According to KT, the monthly average number of LTE subscribers until last April was 230,000, and it doubled to about 480,000 in August after the new Galaxy price plans and handset lineups were launched. Plus, the daily average number of subscribers has increased by 18,000 so that the percentage of LTE sales has increased to 80% and continues to grow rapidly.
In addition, KT expects to gather more LTE subscribers in the second half of the year.
