LG Electronics have sold three million LTE smartphones globally. LG plans to significantly expand its LTE smartphones availability in 2012 as the number of countries offering LG LTE smartphones to grow from 10 to 20 markets by the end of the year.
“Reaching the three million milestone this early in LTE’s global roll-out is a strong sign that customers are on board with our LTE strategy,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications Company.
LG’s offering of LTE smartphones to date include Revolution, LG’s first LTE model released in May 2011; LG Optimus LTE, HD LTE smartphone launched in October 2011 that exceeded sales of one million units within the first 100 days; LG Optimus Vu, launched in Korea in February 2012; LG Optimus LTE Tag, offers Tag+, a feature which uses Near Field Communication (NFC) to interact with special stickers that change the phone’s settings automatically; LG Optimus LTE II, latest in the series and has 2 GB RAM.
