According to the operator, 4G coverage expansion is scheduled to commence shortly and when completed later this year would more than double the 4G coverage available in the Newcastle area complementing Telstra’s existing 3G coverage which reaches 99.3 per cent of the Hunter population.
Telstra has confirmed that it had reached a milestone in its national LTE roll out with 4G coverage now available in more than 100 regional and metropolitan centres Australia wide – including the nation’s eight capital city CBDs.
Telstra is also setting up a 4G experience zone in Marketown Shopping Centre this week where Newcastle residents can get hands on with the latest 4G smartphones, tablets and mobile broadband devices.
