Telcel’s parent company America Movil has predicted earlier this year that it will launch LTE in more than one Latin American market in 2012. America Movil operates in 18 Latin American countries.
According to Reforma newspaper, the LTE trials reached to speeds from 50 Mbps to 96 Mbps. Additionally, the official said that in 2012 WiMAX technology will also be introduced.
By the end of 2010, Telcel has 81% Wireless Penetration and 71% Wireless Market Share with TDMA, GSM, UMTS networks in Mexico market.
