South Korean wireless service provider LG U+ has selected Nokia Siemens Networks to rollout it’s LTE commercial service network.
South Korean wireless service provider LG U+ has selected Nokia Siemens Networks to rollout it’s LTE commercial service network.
As part of deal, Nokia Siemens Networks is deploying its single radio access network (RAN) including It’s Flexi Multiradio Base Station and NetAct management system to provide consolidated configuration, monitoring and network optimization. The company will also provide network implementation services to ensure a rapid LTE network roll out.
“This significant deal for Nokia Siemens Networks in Korea is a sign of our commitment to LG U+ and to the Korean market. This deal puts Nokia Siemens Networks at the forefront of LTE deployments in Korea and we are delighted to support LG U+ in creating a world class mobile broadband service,” said Paul Tyler, head of the Asia Pacific region at Nokia Siemens Networks.
Ericsson also has signed a commercial contract with LG U+ via their local entity, LG-Ericsson. Commercial service will start in July 2011.
