Aptilo Networks has announced plans to add LTE to its portfolio of service management and policy control solutions for operators. Aptilo currently provides pre-integrated solutions for control of billing, user services and access in wireless networks including WiMAX and Wi-Fi.
According to company statement, Aptilo’s new 4G service management platform with LTE support has a purpose-built PCRF (policy charging and rules function) that, unlike traditional solutions, is pre-integrated with optional Aptilo modules for the necessary subsystems that are usually purchased separately such as prepaid systems, subscriber database, WEB portals, statistics and reporting, voucher management and more.
Aptilo’s multi-access architecture provides a single, scalable platform to support WiMAX, Wi-Fi and now LTE installations. This means operators using Aptilo’s WiMAX solution can easily roll out LTE at a later date, preserving investments and positioning them for future growth.
“As the LTE market grows to include more than just the largest mobile operators, Aptilo is well poised to expand our reach into the ever-changing mobile broadband access market,” said Aptilo CEO Torbjorn Ward.
Aptilo’s LTE solution will be available in early 2011.
