Chunghwa completes FDD, TDD LTE tests on HSR

Taiwanese operator Chunghwa Telecom has completed LTE tests on the high-speed rail (HSR) for both TDD & FDD.

Taiwanese operator Chunghwa Telecom has completed LTE tests on the high-speed rail (HSR) for both TDD & FDD. According to China Post the tests were conducted jointly with Nokia Siemens Networks using the 2.6GHz band of the radio spectrum.

The tests entailed how LTE would be used in different scenarios, and were all conducted on commercial hardware and software compliant with the 3GPP standard.

Chunghwa Telecom used Nokia Siemens Networks equipments for both TDD & FDD tests. Earlier in April this year, Chunghwa Telecom Laboratories and Nokia Siemens Networks  had announced collaboration to conduct live LTE trial in Taiwan.

Ericsson and Chunghwa Telecom Laboratories have already announced LTE field trial results. The trial with Ericsson  focused on feature testing IP-based LTE-EPC, MIMO, LTE-EPC network performance verification, and displaying how to use LTE-EPC for various IMS-based applications and mobile broadband applications.
