Earlier this month, Telecom Italia announced begining of second phase of LTE tests using two 20 MHz blocks in the 2500-2690 MHz frequency band, allowing data transmission speeds of up to 140 Mbit/s per cell.
Nokia Siemens Networks’ end-to-end offering for LTE includes its Flexi Multiradio Base Station, as well as its Evolved Packet Core (EPC) technology, which consists of the Flexi NG (Network Gateway) and Flexi NS (Network Server).
NSN has already been selected by 16 operators for commercial LTE deployment including Harbinger for the LightSquared network in the US, NTT DOCOMO in Japan, Zain Bahrain, Telenor Denmark, TeliaSonera in the Nordics, Mobily in Saudi Arabia, Elisa in Finland, and Verizon in the US.
