Telstra’s subsidiary, Hong Kong’s mobile network operator CSL and ZTE plan to deploy commercial 1800 MHz/2600 MHz dual-band LTE network.
ZTE will provide CSL with an end-to-end LTE infrastructure solution and LTE devices. It will provide CSL with a unified core network to support 2G/3G/LTE concurrently for a seamless user experience. ZTE’s latest Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology supports the distributed multi-mode and multi-band base stations, including re-farming of the 1800MHz spectrum for LTE use.
CSL claims to be the first operator in Hong Kong to deploy a commercial LTE network.The two companies recently received the 2010 Global Telecoms Business (GTB) award for LTE Infrastructure Innovation.
ZTE claims to have deployed seven commercial LTE networks so far with nearly 50 LTE trial networks for leading telecom operators in Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific and MEA.
