March 22, 2010 – Anite today announced the release of its first LTE operator acceptance script package. The release of CAS (Carrier Acceptance Scripts) V5.0 constitutes a significant LTE device testing milestone as this is the first package to support the LTE device acceptance requirements of a major network operator.
Major operators consider Interoperability Testing (IOT) in the lab as essential in verifying that new devices will deliver the anticipated mobile user experience. Today, the largest number of tests for 2G and 3G operator acceptance programmes are run on SAS, Anite’s leading network simulator solution. The powerful and cost-effective means of network simulation is now being considered for LTE device interoperability, and CAS V5.0 is the first Anite script package released to support LTE operator acceptance tests.
CAS V5.0 uses SAS LTE and the Anite 9000 Mobile Test Accelerator to help identify and resolve device interoperability issues early in the testing cycle, to ensure that the LTE user experience will live up to customer expectations. The CAS V5.0 scripts support the formalised LTE device test requirements of a major, multi-technology, network operator. The scripts have been written using the intuitive SAS LTE graphical interface, consequently they are easy to understand and run. Furthermore, these scripts have already been used to test LTE devices currently available from leading UE manufacturers.
“Interest in LTE is growing, and Anite is at the forefront of LTE device testing,” says Richard Jacklin, IOT Product Group Manager, Anite. “Using SAS, the industry-leading 3GPP IOT solution, Anite’s 2G/3G operator acceptance script packages have helped our customers reduce device approval times by more than 50%. The new CAS package is based on the same ‘winning formula’ to accelerate LTE device time-to-market. This is another proof of the competitive advantage that Anite’s LTE testing solutions provide to our customers.”
